Integrative Counselling

Integrative Counselling strives to combine three theoretical perspectives: the bedrock of Integrative Counselling is person-centred – the idea that the client has the full potential to grow within themselves and that within a therapeutic relationship the counsellor and the client can work together to achieve this potential.

Gestalt therapy suggests that we merely need to become more self aware in order to change. By focusing on the here and now experience,  the client increases his or her awareness of unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

Transactional Analysis offers a way of understanding personality, behaviour and relationships, using jargon-free  and approachable concepts, language and methods.

A skillful Integrative Counsellor uses these three theoretical approaches in an integrative way and adapts to each client in order to give the support needed at the time.
