About Me

I am a fully-qualified and experienced humanistic integrative counsellor. IĀ abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice, a voluntary Code of Practice prescribed by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which I am a member.

My work is based on the belief that clients have the potential of growth within themselves. I see myself as a facilitator of this process, working proactively with the client to remove blocks that are unproductive. Drawing from the theoretical approaches of Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, I aim to facilitate change in the client by using the methods that are most suitable at the time. I have experience of working with clients presenting a variety of issues such as bereavement, disabilities and mental health issues.

I have worked for the Federation of Disabled People in Brighton, supporting people with issues of disabilities and chronic illness. Also, I have trained and worked with Cruse Bereavement Care Brighton and am currently working for the ‘As You Are Centre’, a Low Cost Counselling Service in Southwick, East Sussex.

My aim is to offer a safe, comfortable and confidential space for clients to explore their meanings in life. I offer both long- and short-term contracts and believe that sometimes clients might just need a few sessions to identify their issues and work proactively towards feeling better within themselves and manifest growth in their lives.

Originally from Germany and having lived in the UK for over ten years, I offer counselling in both German and English.
